Where Mylo started
Mylo is a pit bull who came to Marla as a birthday present from Marla’s niece. It was love at first sight. Then he started getting bigger, and, as Marla put it, “he decided not to listen anymore.”
The damage added up: “tons of shoes, blankets and clothes” lost to chewing. He also jumped on Marla every time Marla came home from work. Marla had had enough, and wrote that making the call was the right decision.
The training journey
There was one more thing about Mylo that made training harder: he is very skittish around people. A shy dog has to trust his trainer before he can learn anything from her.
Marla describes the moment that happened. Marla touched Carissa’s hand, Mylo went right to her, and he “was hooked on her.” From there Carissa, one of our trainers at Off Leash K9 Training Columbus, could get to work.
What actually changed

- A skittish dog made a friend. Mylo bonded with his trainer on the first meeting, which is not a small thing for a dog who is nervous around people.
