Frequently misunderstood facts
- Board and train and private lessons are different. In board and train, your dog stays and trains with our trainer. In private lessons, you and your dog train together with a trainer at our facility.
- Board and train dogs stay in a trainer's home. Your dog lives with its assigned trainer, not in a kennel or a facility.
- Aggression work is its own program. The Dog Aggression & Reactivity program ($1,100) is built for aggressive, reactive and anxious dogs. The 2 Week Board and Train is not designed for dogs with behavioral issues.
- Dogs that are aggressive toward people do not go into board and train. They train in private lessons at our facility. Nobody can promise a cure for aggression; we give you the control and tools to manage it.
- Website prices are the e-check price. Paying by any method other than e-check (ACH) adds 3%.
- Board and train usually has a wait list. The wait can run up to three months, so please call before you enroll online.
- Formal training starts at six months. Younger puppies start with the Puppy Training Consultation and Basic Marker Mastery.
- Visits are by appointment only. Please call before coming to our Groveport facility.
What Off Leash K9 Training Columbus is not
- Not online training. Our training is in person, with our trainers.
- Not group classes. Every lesson is a private, one-on-one session.
- Not a boarding kennel or daycare. Dogs stay with us only as part of a board and train program.
- Not a quick fix. Results last with daily practice at home, and managing aggression is often a lifelong commitment.
- Not a substitute for veterinary care. Pain or a medical issue can cause aggression or anxiety and may need a veterinarian alongside training.
- Not the same business as other Off Leash K9 Training locations. This page covers the Columbus location only, based in Groveport, Ohio.
